Gerd Kenda studied musical education, solo voice and vocal pedagogics at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and completed master classes in choral conducting with Eric Ericson, Erwin Ortner and Johannes Prinz. Since 1987 he has been teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz in the areas of voice training, voice didactics and contemporary vocal chamber music. Kenda is a soloist in the field of oratorio and contemporary opera (member of the vocal ensemble NOVA since 1995). Among other things, he is in charge of leading choir rehearsals for Opern der Zukunft at the Graz Opera and has been head of chor pro musica graz since 1985.
