Dimitri Papageorgiou studied composition with Pressl and Dobrowolski in Graz and earned his doctorate in Iowa (USA) under Jenni, Roberts, and Gompper. Since 2007, he has been an assistant professor of composition at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. His works have been broadcast multiple times by ORF, Greek National Radio, and several US radio stations. In addition to his performances at numerous festivals and conferences in the USA and across Europe, he has also received commissions from various institutions and ensembles. He is also a co-founder of the dissonart ensemble.
