David Obermaier aka silentbeat is a musician, producer, and performer based in Graz. As a hard-of-hearing artist with Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) as his first language, he combines sound, vibration, and visual impulses to create inclusive musical experiences. In addition to his solo work, he is part of the project Laikka, producing electronic soundscapes between pop, ambient, and club music. David studies teacher education with a focus on inclusion, as well as sports science, and works as a sign language lecturer. In his artistic practice, he combines technical curiosity with physical perception often using sensory tools like vibration belts in live performances.
