Daniel Oliver Moser (*1982) is an Austrian composer and violist. His works are performed worldwide by renowned artists and ensembles. From 2020 to 2022, he held a professorship in composition and historical composition techniques at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), where he continues to teach as a senior lecturer. Moser’s compositional style combines a poetic exploration of timbre and texture with a richly layered harmonic language. The result is dense, colourful sound worlds of both intellectual and emotional intensity. Alongside his work as a composer, Moser is active as a violist with a focus on contemporary music. His works have been featured in portrait concerts and international festivals, released on recordings, and broadcast by numerous radio stations. His awards include the Theodor Körner Preis, the Austrian START Scholarship for Music, and the Austrian State Scholarship for Composition.
