Daisy Press

Daisy Press, vocalist, is a prominent interpreter of avant-garde classical repertoire, though she grew up under a rock and roll stage. Her most recent solo appearance was in Bernhard Lang's Monadologie XVIII ‘Moving Architecture’, alongside Ensemble PHACE, and with choreographer Silke Grabinger. Press teaches in her own private vocal studio which combines sound healing, North Indian ragas, and Western classical vocal technique. Recently, she has taken to singing the music of Hildegard von Bingen with a shruti box and crystal bowls in the subways of NYC and in Central Park. Notable solo appearances include several performances of Morton Feldman’s Three Voices, and a longtime collaboration in the video opera Whispering Pines 10 with composer Nick Hallett and visual artist Shana Moulton.
