The conductor Cordula Bürgi, who was born and raised in Switzerland, studied violin at the Lucerne School of Music and conducting at the Basel Academy of Music. In 2016, she founded the ensemble Cantando Admont. This ensemble of soloists, comprising outstanding singers and instrumentalists, has established itself on the European music scene within just a few years under her leadership as conductor and artistic director. She performs regularly at renowned festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Bayreuth Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Acht Brücken Festival in Cologne, Wien Modern, the Munich Biennale, Klangspuren Schwaz, the Carinthian Summer, the Bern Music Festival, the Mahler Festival in Dobbiaco, and at venues such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Zurich Opera House, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the Onassis Centre in Athens.
