Christina Ruf, a cellist and composer who shuttles between Denmark and Vienna, works with her instrument in sonic and formative dimensions that only hint at classical playing in reflections. Instead, the use of a six-string E-cello, along with various effect pedals and electronics, allows her to influence and expand form and sound, giving her playing a unique expression. Since 2020, she has released several solo albums and realized electro-acoustic projects in collaboration with Erik Emil Eskildsen, including the hybrid cello MelloDome and the composition Alum Feather. She is a founding member of various duos that navigate between improvisation, experimental electronics, contemporary music, and art-pop.
