Charlotte Seither

Charlotte Seither (*1965, Landau/Palatinate) studied composition with Frank Michael Beyer, Friedrich Goldmann and Aribert Reimann in Berlin and was the first German to win first prize at the international composition competition Prague Spring in 1995. Her work has been presented at international festivals such as Gaudeamus Amsterdam, Wien Modern or the Venice Biennale, and she has received numerous awards, including the GEMA German Music Authors’ Prize and the Ernst von Siemens Sponsorship Prize. She is on the board of the German composers association DKV and serves in international committees as a juror and curator. Seither was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 2020 and is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg.
