Bernhard Gander

Bernhard Gander (*1969) studied piano, composition and conducting at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium, as well as composition with Beat Furrer in Graz. He also completed further studies in electroacoustic music at Studio UPIC in Paris and at the Swiss Center for Computer Music in Zurich. Orchestras such as Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern, RSO Wien, DSO Berlin, Brussels Philharmonic, SWR Sinfonieorchester, as well as NÖ Tonkünstlerorchester perform his works in concert halls and festivals such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Steirischer Herbst or Biennale München. Gander has already received numerous prizes, including the Music Promotion Prize of the City of Vienna for composition in 2004, State Scholarship for composition or the Ernst Krenek Prize 2012 for melting pot. Many of his works are published by Edition Peters.
