Bernd Richard Deutsch

Bernd Richard Deutsch (*1977) is one of the internationally successful composers of his generation. His music is highly virtuosic, playful, and occasionally ironic, characterized by a variety of musical characters and gestures. Among his notable works are Subliminal for orchestra, Murales for ensemble and orchestra, and Okeanos for organ and orchestra. Deutsch has received composition commissions from prestigious festivals and institutions such as the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Bamberger Symphoniker. His works have been performed worldwide by renowned ensembles and conductors. Deutsch was a Fellow Composer at the Cleveland Orchestra and has received numerous awards, including the Paul Lowin Prize. He studied composition in Vienna and currently lives as a freelance composer in the city. His works are published by Boosey & Hawkes.
