Alwynne Pritchard is an artist, performer, composer and artistic director of the Borealis festival in Bergen. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music in London, and has a PhD from the University of Bristol. Her compositions and performances have been heard across Europe, America and Indonesia and she has worked with leading musicians and ensembles across the globe. Over the past decade, Alwynne has made increasing use of music-theatre in her work, also participating as a vocal and physical performer in many of her own projects. From 2001 until 2008 Alwynne taught composition at Trinity College of Music in London and has presented many contemporary music programmes for BBC Radio 3, including Music in Our Time, Midnight Oil, Music Matters, Hear and Now and Discovering Music. Alwynne's music is published by Verlag Neue Musik, Berlin.
