Ailís Ní Ríain is an Irish composer. Her work has been performed, recorded and broadcast throughout the world. Her artistic interests include concert music, installation and music theatre. A portrait disc of her work was released by NMC Recordings in 2023 to great acclaim. Ailís is deaf/hard of hearing and a long-time campaigner for greater representation and access in music. She has received commissions from leading orchestras and ensembles and has been awarded the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers. Ailís has been awarded numerous international fellowships, associate artist positions and residencies in the USA and Europe. Ailís is also a published writer for the stage.
