Adriana Hölszky

Adriana Hölszky (*1953, Bucharest) studied composition in Bucharest and in Stuttgart with Milko Kelemen, among others. Despite her rigorous training in piano, she has always focused her attention on writing music and she developed a unique compositional style. She has received numerous prizes and awards, including the Max Deutsch Prize, the Heidelberg Artist Prize for women composers, and the fellowship by the German Academy Rome Villa Massimo. She taught composition at the Rostock University of Music and the Mozarteum University Salzburg and is now a member of the Academies of Art in Berlin and Munich.
