Student 3D Audio Production Competition 2024

Thu 3.10.2024 - 22:30
Dom im Berg

3D audio is the immersive music format of the future. It allows sound to be be placed around the listener, creating the feeling of being right in the middle of the action. This offers music producers new opportunities to work with the sound space, but these are rarely exploited. This year, we once again present the three winners of the Student 3D Audio Production Competition (S3DAPC) in the contemporary/computer music category.

The fifty-channel loudspeaker system in the Dom im Berg offers ideal listening conditions for new 3D music by young composers and musicians from all over the world. Since 2017, students have been able to submit their 3D audio productions in the Ambisonics audio format in three categories: contemporary/computer music; audio drama/documentary/soundscapes; and music recording/studio production. The best works are awarded prizes by an international jury with thirty members from over twenty countries.
