In 2019, a Ukrainian string quartet celebrated its premiere at the musikprotokoll with contemporary Ukrainian music. They played so spectacularly well that we invited the Danapris String Quartet to return to Graz just two years later. Violist Kateryna Suprun is a founding member of this magnificent ensemble; she fled to Berlin at the beginning of the war. In March, she released her solo album Constellation, which she recorded in Kyiv during the coronavirus pandemic. It is a finely shimmering, delicate compilation of contemporary music from Ukraine that is waiting to be discovered.
