William Forman

Winfried Ritsch, born in Innsbruck in 1964, has been interested in electronic music and media art technologies since his youth. In addition to art installations he also implements new artistic concepts, from media laboratories to opera productions. Ritch studied electrotechnology/sound engineering and teaches computer music at the Institute of Electronic Music (IEM) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He has been running the Atelier Algorythmics for almost 20 years, is a member of the artist collectives FOND and TONTO in Graz, and founder and member of the netart initiative mur.at. He also develops open-source computer-music systems. He plays in various bands and performs solo with robotic instruments he develops himself. His artistic activities include radio art, the realisation of performances, installations and sound sculptures, telematic projects (networks), concerts and compositions.
