Bernd Richard Deutsch (*1977) studied composition at the University of Music in Vienna. He received numerous awards and scholarships like the Austrian State Scholarship for Composition in 2010, the Lower Austrian Appreciation Award in 2011 as well as the Paul Hindemith Prize 2014, the Prize of the City of Vienna for Music 2015 and the Paul Lowin Prize 2015. His compositions have been played at prestigious festivals like Wien Modern, ECLAT Festival Stuttgart, Biennale Neue Musik Hannover, Bregenzer Festspiele and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. The composer regularly works with internationally acclaimed ensembles and orchestras. Over the years Bernd Richard Deutsch has received commissions by Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien, Ensemble die reihe, Klangspuren Schwaz, ORF, Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich, RSO Wien, SWR, and Staatstheater Stuttgart.
