The solitary project of Thomas Bonvalet initially focused on the nylon string guitar, limiting itself exclusively to the acoustic possibilities of the instrument. The instrument thus became less and less identifiable, seeing itself forced into metamorphosis and movement. At the periphery it absorbed the sound of objects (metronome, tuning forks, harmonicas…) deviating from their common usage, integrating the sounds rising from the instrumental gesture. Amplification has also progressively taken an essential part in this new instrumentarium/organism. Thomas Bonvalet (born 1977), lives in Spain and was the guitar player of the band Cheval de frise until 2004. Serpentement, released in 2012, is the fourth recording of l’ocelle mare.
